DEV LOG #12: Buffing & Bulking Pre-Alpha

All teams are in the highest grind mode, as we are getting closer to the game launch 💥. This stage is about adding more ‘juice’ to the game — polishing gameplay mechanics, adding more content, & perfecting the overall game feel is the main focus. We’ve crossed yet another successful milestone from our development roadmap focused on upgrading the first map & player extraction mechanics.

💅 Buffing the first map

The first game map — the Military Base — now looks more dreadful & frightening than ever. That’s exactly the vibe we were going for when finishing the last ambience points like added environmental VFXs 🔥, set up lighting 💡& fog effects 🌁.
With these improvements we’re prepared to immerse players in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. What’s even better is that each session offers a unique location setup, ensuring players experience the thrill of the unknown every time they enter the game.

🪂 Ready for extractions

The stars of this milestone were our back-end team. They’ve been hard at work setting up the primary game loop mechanics, particularly extraction. We’ve now established an extraction point network, allowing players to raid maps, collect their loot, and make their escape via these designated points. For instance, hop onto a chopper to retreat back to the hideout.

Here’s an example of the extraction point — enter the chopper to leave the location.

💪 Bulking up the content

We have really nailed down the game content streamline — therefore we have introduced additional enemy & boss types. Not leaving players empty handed, each week art team is adding hundreds of assets of weaponry to the collection.
Additionally, the game design team just could not sit tight & decided to juice up the enemy ability pool. So now, these guys come out shooting, punching & exploding from all around.
